Turks And Caicos Providenciales – Things to Do

Turks and Caicos Providenciales is part of a group of tropical islands located in the British West Indies. It is the third largest island with a population of approximately 23,000 making it the most populated island in the Turks and Caicos. It also has the most resorts of all the Islands.

There's so many things to do and see in Turks and Caicos Providenciales you'll have to make a lot of trips to cover them all...which is not such a bad thing!

Here's a list of some of my favorite activities and some of my, I still have to do activities:

See the glow worms
Every month for 3 to 5 days after the full moon you can hop on a sunset cruise and watch as thousands of bioluminescence glow worms create a show that is magical in its natural beauty.

Visit Iguana Island
This island is also known as Little Water Cay. It is a sanctuary dedicated to preserving the rock iguanas.

Go on a sunset cruise
This is a must when you are visiting Turks and Caicos Providenciales! The sunsets are intense when viewed from a boat on the water. It really takes your breath away.

Turks and Caicos Providenciales Sunset

This is a picture of the sunset I took while coming back from a sunset cruise. It's spectacular how the sun sinks into the water!

Go horseback riding on the beach
Go on a romantic horseback ride for two or have a fun-filled day trotting along the beach with family and friends.

Tee Off at Provo Golf Club
I know that when my brother and his wife come down to visit they'll be itching to play at this challenging 18-hole course!

Gamble the night away
Feeling lucky? Take yourself on over to the Casablanca Casino. You can play the slots, black jack, craps, roulette or join a poker tournament. Maybe you'll win enough to pay for your vacation in Turks and Caicos Providenciales.

Take a tour on an ATV
Up until 1964 Providenciales did not have a single wheeled vehicle on the island. Now you can pretty much rent any type of vechicle you want to go exploring or how about taking a tour to see the northwest corner of Provo? Taking an all terrain vechicle is the way to do it. This is a great way of getting through the rougher terrain of this part of the island and experiencing the incredible beaches here such as Malcolm Roads Beach.

Visit the Conchs
Turks and Caicos Providenciales is the island in the world that has a conch farm. Visitors are encouraged to handle the conch and different conch at all stages in the life cycle are available to handle on the tour. Tame full-grown conch are enticed out of their shells to greet the visitors.

Explore Chalk Sound National Park
This park is the pride of Providenciales. A three mile bay with the most amazing turquoise blue sea, visitors find themselves speechless. It is the experience of a lifetime and one not to be missed if you’re lucky enough to visit Turks and Caicos Providenciales.

Go Scuba Diving
Divers will appreciate the world class diving on offer in Providenciales. Inside that turquoise sea are miles of spectacular coral reef. You might even get to see a national treasure, Jo Jo the Dolphin!

Go Snorkeling
Take a boat ride out to the barrier reef which is the third largest in the world! You'll be amazed at the beauty residing under the perfect turquoise waters in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

SNUBA
If you're not into snorkeling or have always wanted to try scuba diving but don't want to waste your precious vacation time learning how, then give Snuba a try! It's for children who are over the age of 8 and seniors and just generally anyone who wants to dive right away with wearing all the equipment.

Visit North and Middle Caicos
Take a day to visit North and Middle Caicos! You take the ferry over, rent a car and take the day to visit all sorts of great spots on these islands. A must see is Mudjin Harbor in Middle Caicos and stop for a bite to eat at Daniel's Cafe...best fish around!

Spa Day
Have a spa day! You can find many amazing spa's in Turks and Caicos Providenciales. If you want the ultimate spa experience, why not have them come to your room or villa for a couples massage!

Miniature Golf
This is great if you have kids. Get them to the miniature golf center for some fun times...they can also play video games or ride on Go-Karts!

Conch Festival
If you're on Island November 26 -27 you have to go to the Conch Festival. I plan on going this year...it will be my first time but I'm sure not my last!

Do some Turks and Caicos Shopping! What's a vacation without a little shopping, right?!?

These are just a very few of the things that you can do while on the beautiful Island of Provo.

With miles of surreal turquoise beaches, authentic Caribbean villages, tourist attractions, history and beauty, Turks and Caicos Providenciales is ideally set up to be your paradise holiday destination.
