Lemon Cafe - Turks and Caicos

Lemon Cafe rocks! Enough said ;o) Okay, maybe not enough...

Turks and Caicos has tons of restaurants with tons of different cuisines and a myriad of ambiances to choose from depending on how you feel...even so, Lemon stood out amongst them all!

It is the only restaurant on Providenciales which boasts a Moroccan/Mediterranean menu. There are a variety of incredibly flavorful dishes that will please just about anybodys palate.

You can check out Lemon Cafe's menu and see for yourself the amazing foods you'll get to experience.

The specialty is Tagines which are slow cooked stews and they sure do hit the spot when you are really hungry. My favorite was the lamb Tagine...there's also chicken and vegetable to choose from.

For lunch my favorite meals were the Merquez sausage sandwich with a spicy hot sauce called harissa that had my mouth tingling with delight and the lamb burger which is out of this world. The hummus, baba ganoush and cucumber mint yogurt served with pita wedges is phenomenal!

For dinner, I tried a number of the meals. My favorite was the moussaka! Oh wow! The blackened salmon was a close second and B'stilla, which I'd never heard of before, was amazing. It is chicken breast with cinnamon, almonds and a blend of exotic herbs and spices...all wrapped up in layers of phyllo pastry...I wanted more every time I ate at Lemon Café.

Now, let's talk about desserts! John makes 4 incredible desserts and I tried them all. My favorite was the lemon tart...you can taste the butter in the crust and that combined with the sweet tartness of the lemon filling is something you don't want to miss!

There's also a ginger cheesecake...I'm not a big cheesecake fan but I enjoyed this one because it was light with just a hint of ginger, refreshing almost. The chocolate pie with a side of vanilla icecream...what's not to like?!? And then there's the date phyllo pastry...soooo good!

Not only is the food great but the atmosphere is magical with lanterns lit up at night on the ground and hanging in the trees.

If you're on island the first Saturday of the month you need to go for dinner and become a part of Arabian Nights at Lemon Café! It is so much fun...with belly dancers and when John is done in the kitchen for the night he spins poi (fire spinning).

If I'm on island you might even be able to get your Tarot cards read! Check out the short clip below of John doing some of his fire spinning!

Chef John of Lemon Cafe poi spinning! If you want to see more...be there the first Saturday of every month! Make sure to make a reservation, it's packed!

All in all...Lemon Café Turks and Caicos is a dining experience not to be missed! Hope to see you there!
