Horseback riding on the beach brings up all sorts of romantic images for many people. Imagine a day out on a magnificent Caribbean beach surrounded by crystal clear turquoise waters with the love of your life.
Or how about a fun-filled day with the family riding along canals and dirt roads onto the secluded beach of Long Bay Hills in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
If riding along a perfect stretch of beach is something that you've dreamed of doing then you will be in the most perfect setting available when you travel to Providenciales.

There is the most delightful small horseback riding stable known as Provo Ponies situated on the southeast end of Providenciales Island. They offer guided horseback rides throughout the week except for Sundays when the ponies have the day off.
What you'll experience is a very personalized ride geared towards your riding capabilities. So if you're experienced enough you'll be able to enjoy trotting and cantering on the waters edge! And because the waters are shallow enough off of Long Bay Beach you can ride your horse in the ocean...how cool is that!
Bring your camera along and Camille (the owner) will capture some great pics of your horseback riding on the beach adventure.
There are never more than 12 people taken out at one time and if you like you can arrange a private horseback ride for an additional fee.
Riders must be 6 years and older and anyone under 17 must wear a helmet which are made available by Provo Ponies.
Long Bay Beach is an incredibly beautiful, serene beach with four miles of powdery, white sand. The perfect place to experience horseback riding on the beach.

Transportation can be arranged to and from your hotel and it is suggested that you wear long pants and shoes so your ride will be comfortable. Remember your sunscreen and a hat!
If you have minimal experience you will be unable to trot or canter on the beach but that's okay, you'll still be thrilled with your ride. Novice riders are those that can mount and dismount unaided as well as trot and canter for short periods. If you have a well balanced seat in any saddle and display confidence and control in open spaces, including cantering and trotting then you would be considered an intermediate rider. If you ride on a regular basis and are 100% confident of your riding skills then you are classified as an advanced rider.
After getting to know you and your horseback riding experience, a pony or horse will be chosen that is most compatible for you.
No matter which level you're at you will have an incredible horseback riding on the beach experience in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
